Why I Love ClassPass
Two words (okay, technically just one): ClassPass. Maybe you’ve heard about it from a friend or seen a few ads on Instagram, or maybe you’re like me and you are totally drinking the ClassPass Kool-Aid. If you’re not already sold on it just yet here’s a quick rundown for everything you need to know about ClassPass.
ClassPass is a flat-rate subscription for basically any type of workout studio in your area. Essentially you pick how many credits you want to pay for per month. In my experience each class is anywhere between 0 and 14 credits per class. Zero credit classes are rare but some studios may have these classes if there is a new instructor or free community class. The higher priced studios are to be expected – pilates, barre, boxing (e.g. [solidcore], Barry’s Bootcamp, etc.). If you're someone who likes to indulge in these pricier classes, then you'll probably want to get the maximum amount of credits that ClassPass can offer. But if you're like me and you're trying to stay in shape and get a killer body on a budget then you'll want to get the least amount of credits. Speaking as someone who has paid for the minimum amount of credits, you can absolutely still get killer workouts that you're looking for.
ClassPass is also fantastic for people who like to travel often. As someone who travels 5 out of the 7 days for work, I need a fitness app that can accommodate my always changing schedule and location. This has given me the ability to try out some of my now favorite studios - like yoga in LA, barre in Chicago, or pilates in Miami. Basically name the type of workout that you want, and ClassPass will be able to provide options for you whenever wherever. No more excuses - now you can finally try the studios and workouts you've been dying to try! Big plus - ClassPass encompasses all things health and wellness. This includes options like meditation classes, cryotherapy sessions, massage therapy, and access to salons for facials, eyelash extensions, blowouts.
ClassPass offers free on-demand workouts. If you're feeling lazy and don't want to leave the comfort of your own home ClassPass also offers free classes on their app. Yes, you heard that right. Their on-demand workouts include yoga, barre, HIIT, strength training, pilates, cardio, and stretching. They have both videos and audio, so whether you're someone who wants a coach in your ear while you go for a run or someone showing you how to do a proper downward dog, there's something for everyone in the on-demand section.
They're putting their customers' safety first during COVID-19 by offering live streams and pausing billing cycles. If there's anything I've learned during this global pandemic, it's that how businesses are treating their customers speaks volumes about them. Since many (if not all) studios have had to temporarily shut their doors due to coronavirus, ClassPass has teamed up with these studios to do livestream classes. Now you can keep doing your go-to workouts like Barry's Bootcamp in the safety of your own living room! On top of that ClassPass has completely paused billing cycles through June 1, 2020. This means that you can still get the on-demand and livestream perks without paying the price during these unprecedented times.
Whether you've never heard of ClassPass before in your life or you've been kicking the idea around for a while, let me tell ya first hand - it's worth the try. Have a friend refer you and take you to your first class so you can get your first month FREE! You won't regret it.
